OFFICERS
 
Peter Karlen / President
Peter is currently a second year student at Columbia Business School. Peter spent his summer working for the Boston Consulting Group in the San Francisco office. He advised a bio-tech company on their R&D processes. Prior to business school, Peter spent four years working at StreetSquash, a start-up nonprofit after-school program serving children in the Harlem community. Peter's experiences at StreetSquash included program development, marketing, organizational strategy, and fundraising. As Director of Development, Peter led a successful $10.5 million Capital Campaign to construct a youth center in Harlem. Peter also authored a five-year strategic plan to prepare StreetSquash for its expansion and transition into its new facility. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Harvard College, where he was an All-American squash player and a member of the United States National Team.
Erik Ulin / VP External
Erik is a student at Columbia Business School pursuing an MBA focusing on finance and entrepreneurship. Erik has an M.Sc. in Business and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics. Prior to CBS, Erik was a management consultant with Arthur D. Little in Stockholm, , focusing on strategy and organization in various industries, including the venture capital, private equity, healthcare, chemicals and automotive industries. Erik also has experience from consulting to small and mid-sized companies wanting to enter the market when working at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce. Erik has also worked within Swedish military intelligence for a total of six years, and is fluent in Swedish, English, French and Russian. During the summer of 2007, Erik was a summer associate in the IT investment team at Investor Growth Capital, a $1.8b growth stage venture capital firm in New York City.
Bronson Lingamfelter / VP Internal

Bronson is currently a second year MBA student at Columbia Business School . This summer Bronson was an Associate Intern at Stonehenge Capital. His responsibilities included sourcing and due diligence for both prospective early stage venture investments and later stage subordinate debt placements. Prior to business school he gained experience in several start up ventures, most recently co-founding an independent trading partnership. There he wrote and executed proprietary trading models in both the NASDAQ equity and index futures markets. Prior to that he helped to launch ConnectEdu a technology and consulting platform designed to support high school students and families engaged in the undergraduate university application and financial aid process. He also has worked with startups in high-tech consumer products and services industries. Bronson graduated from Brown University in 2002.

Kyusik Chung / VP Companies

Kyusik is currently a co-founder in a pre-launch startup focused on local recommendations. Prior to enrolling at NYU Stern, he was the Product Manager of Advertising at Zillow.com, a real estate startup based in Seattle . There he managed the sole source of revenue and built the home valuation engine that places a price on over 50 million homes every day. Before joining Zillow.com, Kyusik worked as a Lead Program Manager at Expedia, where he was responsible for the Hotels Systems back end projects, including integration with suppliers and Hotels.com. Prior to Expedia, he spent 2 years working for Sapient, a technology consultancy, as an Engineer, where he gained financial and hospitality industry experience as well as off-shore project management experience. Kyusik graduated from Yale University in 2000 with a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science.

Mark Davis / VP Alumni

Mark has been active in the venture community as an entrepreneur, advisor and venture capitalist. He currently works at DFJ Gotham Ventures, a leading early-stage IT venture capital fund based in New York City . Mark is also the author of Get Venture, a column that helps educate entrepreneurs on the venture capital process. In addition to working in venture capital, Mark is pursuing his MBA at Columbia Business School , where he is the Co-President of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Club, the Founder of the Columbia Venture Community and the Vice President of Alumni Relations for InSITE. Mark also helped organize the DFJ East Coast Venture Challenge, the largest business plan competition in the country. Earlier in his career, Mark advised Fortune 1000 and private equity clients on the strategic and financial attractiveness of acquisition targets at both Bain & Company and KPMG LLP. Mark received his B.A. in Economics with a minor in History at Duke University .

Bruno Annicq / VP Communications

Bruno is currently pursuing an MBA from Columbia Business School. He spent his most recent summer at Goldman Sachs in London in the Investment Banking Division. Notable projects include a private equity LBO in the financial services sector as well as a sell-side divestiture for a consumer goods company. Prior to business school, Bruno spent two years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Belgium. At McKinsey he served over ten clients in a diverse range of sectors and geographies. Notable engagements include several private equity due diligences across Europe, a wholesale and investment banking strategy for a Middle Eastern bank and a change program for a European railway operator. Before joining McKinsey, Bruno interned as a consultant for a technology startup in Paris, France. Bruno holds a specialized master's degree in strategic management from HEC, Paris, France and a master's degree in engineering from Ghent University in Belgium. He is fluent in English, French and Dutch.

Chris Gimbert / VP Internships
Chris is currently pursuing an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business. In addition to being a student, Chris is actively involved in the NY venture community. From the investment side, he is currently a part-time Associate at Contour Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital fund focused on information technology. As an entrepreneur, he has also operated an internet search company and acted as an advisor to several early-stage ventures. Prior to entering business school, Chris worked in the M&A / Business Due Diligence Group at KPMG where he provided strategic advisory services to private equity and Fortune 1000 clients on mergers, acquisitions and new business ventures. Chris was also an analyst with Merrill Lynch in their Alternative Investments Group where he raised capital for private equity, hedge funds and other alternative asset classes. Chris holds a BSBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
Anthony Leotti / VP Teams
Anthony is a second year student at the NYU School of Law. He spent his most recent summer at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton in New York. Prior to law school, Anthony was an investment banking analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Merrill Lynch. While at Merrill, he worked on teams that advised companies across several industries on transformational strategic alternatives. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics from Georgetown University.
Nora Murphy / VP Columbia Recruiting
Nora is currently pursuing an MBA from Columbia Business School. Prior to business school, Nora spent nearly five years in the Investment Bank at JPMorgan. As an Analyst, Nora worked on various corporate transactions for large-cap Telecom, Media and Technology clients including M&A, debt financing and equity issuance. Later as an Associate, Nora worked in the Investment Bank's Strategy and Business Development Group where she was responsible for executing upon strategic initiatives as identified by the Management Committee and for oversight and management of the bank's Strategic Investments Portfolio. In this capacity, Nora gained experience working with early stage companies, deploying the bank's capital in new ventures to drive strategic returns. Prior to JPMorgan, Nora spent one year pursuing personal interests in the fashion industry. Nora holds a BS in Languages and Linguistics from Georgetown University.
Vinay Jain / VP NYU Recruiting
Vinay is a 2009 J.D. candidate at NYU School of Law, where he is concentrating on corporate and transactional law. Before law school, Vinay spent three years managing communications and media relations for the National Wildlife Federation in Washington, D.C., where he worked on on a wide array of energy policy issues. He maintains his strong interest in the clean tech sector through his involvement in InSITE, which he joined in the Fall of 2006. Vinay holds a master's degree in journalism from Stanford and an M.Phil. in political thought from Cambridge. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Virginia.
